Planning and designing sytems to manage stormwater resources takes a strong combination of imagination and technical knowledge to anticipate the specific problems a community or region can encounter. In the 1990s, Upper Canada Consultants is focusing on stormwater resources issues that will continue to be critical to our industry over the coming years. These include everything from watershed planning with geographic information systems to environmental concerns such as fishery and wetlands preservation, stormwater quality enhancement, groundwater recharge, and erosion protection.
Upper Canada's stormwater resources engineering group draws on the professional and technical knowledge of each of its members to create an effective project team who can develop a punctual and economical product for our clients. A large part of that effectiveness relates to our clear understanding of various regulatory requirements- Our staff is thoroughly familiar with the guidelines governing the design of water resources structures, as well as with Ontario's extensive Class Environmental Assessment Act. They are accustomed to coordinating the many intergovernmental reviews and approvals required to ensure that projects stay on track. As well, they regularly interface with other Upper Canada Consultants professionals in executing major development and community projects.
